I was asked to review these two books. As I started reading Heaven for Kids I realized that I needed a kids point of view. So I started reading it to my almost 9 year old Hope.
[From Hope]
I like the book a lot. It told me what heaven would be like. He asked questions like what would heaven look like. All we know is the streets will be like gold. It asked about whether there would be pets in heaven. He said he didn’t know if there would be pets in heaven but he thinks there will be.
He talked a lot about Narnia and how it described heaven. He talked a lot about Aslan being God and the White Witch being the devil. The author tells you the right way to heaven by asking Jesus into your heart. He said we won’t be sad in heaven and we won’t remember the bad times. He said we would have jobs in heaven too.
Wait Until Then was about a little boy named Nathan who was in a wheelchair and his grandpa was dying. The grandpa was a minor league baseball player and he played with Ted Williams. The book was sad because the grandpa died. The grandpa goes to heaven and Nathan dreams that he will play baseball in heaven with his grandpa.
I think both of these books are good. I would recommend Heaven for Kids because it tells you the way to be a Christian. I would recommend Wait Until Then because you can do anything your heart desires in heaven.
